"I am about to launch, through the National Housing Trust in conjunction with the building societies, a range of retirement villages throughout Jamaica in choice locations," the Prime Minister said.

He was addressing the United Kingdom premier of the film 'Jamaica the Ultimate Tour' on Tuesday night (Nov. 22) at the Science Museum in London.

The documentary, which was produced by award-winning filmmaker Peter Greenberg for the Travel Channel, features Jamaica's rich and varied landscape and culture.

The Prime Minister, who is enroute to the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Malta, urged the gathering to visit Jamaica and take advantage of the island's "stunning and diverse" tourism product.

"As the tens of thousands of visitors and tourism award judges at the World Travel Market here in London last week confirmed, Jamaica has a stunning and diverse tourism product. We are not the biggest, we are simply the best," he stated.

Mr. Patterson noted that "making the film served as a fantastic reminder to me, looking back on my time in public service and over my life in Jamaica and I know that I am blessed to be Jamaican and to see how far the Jamaican spirit reaches out around the world".

He added that, "Jamaica is a destination offering infinite variety to the traveller and this film truly captures the essence of that and the spark in our people that sets us apart from other places."

Tuesday night's premier was hosted by the Jamaican High Commission and the Jamaica Tourist Board and sponsors included National Commercial Bank, Jewel Isle, Serious Foods, Western Union, Air Jamaica, and Half Moon Hotel.
